20 Questions with Ashley

As promised, here are Ashley's answers from Places to Go Things to Buy for the 20 Questions-Tag You're It game I created for us bloggers. I loved reading her answers and I am sure you will as well. On a funny side note, I have seen Ashley's pet peeve in person during many of our shopping trips :)

1. Favorite Color: Pink!

2. Favorite food that you make: I love to make tostones which are Cuban fried plantain bananas. My hubby requests them all the time! I also really like my mom's tuna noodle casserole, and then I also love to bake banana bread!

3. Favorite Food Network Chef: Giada De Laurentiis...love her food!

4.. What is the last beauty product you bought, and are you liking it?: I just bought a new bottle of Protect & Perfect Intense Serum by Boots (discussed previously here) and I'm loving it!

5. What are your top 3 beauty products: My 3 favorite beauty products are Protect & Perfect Serum by Boots, Blemish Fighting Apricot Scrub by St. Ives, and Chanel Intimitable mascara.

6. When you were younger what trend did you take part of that you enjoyed the most: Oh boy...I took part in every trend when I was young! I loved guitar string bracelets, jelly heels, glitter all over my face, knee high socks (blame that on Clueless!), glitter nail polish, etc.

7. Essie or OPI? Essie only because I own more Essie nail polishes than OPI.

8. How often do you workout? Oh, I try to work out 3 times a week BUT that doesn't seem to always happen. Most of the time its twice a week and sometimes its 0.... My motivation varies. LOL But all together, I don't work out nearly as much as I should. I guess the 16 years of doing ballet has left me a little rebellious!

9. Iced or hot coffee? Hot coffee most always, except for when its really hot out and then I crave it iced. I also mostly want iced when I want coffee in the afternoons, but mornings I always want hot.

10. favorite celebrity couple: Ok, I got 2: Prince William & Kate! They're celebrities right? And then Giuliana & Bill..love them!

11. favorite reality tv show: Oh godsh, how do I choose!? I'm gonna have to name atleast 2 here again......Project Runway & Jerseylicious.

12. Place you have never been but would like to go: Fiji!

13. what gift did you get from your wedding registry that you get the most use out of?: I use so many of them but if I had to name one it would be my bath towels! I use those all the time and they're sooo soft and comfy!

14. Biggest pet peeve? Ugh....annoying sales people (aka Victoria's Secret). I admit, I have a problem...I need to be nicer to sales people but they soooo piss me off!

15. Best guilty pleasure: Trashy tv shows for sure! I can't get enough!

16. Favorite book: The Something Borrowed series. Love them!

17. Do you subscribe to any magazines?: Yup! I get InStyle, Vogue, People StyleWatch, and Food & Wine magazine.

18. Favorite Halloween costume?: Hmm, Megan & I were Cher and Dionne from Clueless in 4th grade!

19. Drink of choice?: Champagne

20. What advice would you give your 17 year old self? I would say, Ashley don't be boy crazy! You'll find your hubby soon enough so just take a chill pill! The other stuff I would tell myself I probably shouldn't publish on this blog! Lol

I caved.

Several ladies at my office own this shoe in every color they offer. It's called the "Scarlett" (blehhh just adds to my thinking that they look a little stripperish) by Dolce Vita. Initially, I was loving the bow but wasn't planning on making them mine. I thought that the heel was a bit high as well as the platform...Then the more I saw them the more I liked. Here they are on Lynett (one of my coworkers), she did a post on two of her most recent shoes and these were one of them:
Can you see why I like them so much? They are cute and girly. I plan on wearing them with a conservative outfit. Oh yea and the best part is, I bought them in nude from Endless on sale for $49.50 including 2 day shipping! What do you think?

PS: I am enjoying my highlights, but I didn't get a blow out at the salon so my hair looks kind of like crap and I refuse to post a photo until it looks decent.

Paying it Forward with Shasta Anne!

I am so grateful to be a part of Shasta Anne's Pay it Forward initiative! Shasta's blog is one of the many blogs that inspired me to create Meg's Big Move. She is part of a great bloggie land of cute, fashionable, smart, and lovely ladies out there. I love her posts about makeup and skincare, and Tallulah Belle could honestly have her own blog.

So in keeping with the blogging love, I am paying it forward to the the following blogs, some new, some old, some friends, all wonderful :)

and, last but certainly not least, my very dear and old friend who is just figuring out the bloggie land, RPN at http://thoughtsfromrpn.blogspot.com/

I wanted to share a quick story with you about my new adventure in the blogging land. Pretty in Pink Megan was one of the first blogs I started reading. I thought she was the cutest thing and loved following her wedding planning. She, along with Shasta and Veronabrit are like celebrities to me. Anyways, the way I have been uploading pictures onto my blog is by emailing the pictures to myself from my iphone photos to my gmail account. My name, as you already know, is also Megan, so normally I just start typing M..E..G and boom, send. So... I was working on my posts and sending a ton of photos when I realized one did not go through for my ombre hair post. I figured it just never finished sending from my iphone, and forgot about it. Then, as I was lying in bed watching Everybody Loves Raymond (love me some friendly sitcoms before night night time) I check my emails on iPhone and I have one from "Megan". It says, "Hi-how are you?". I was like huhhhhhh? Checked the email address, saw it was from Pretty in Pink Megan, and then saw that she sent me that because I by accidently sent her the subject picture. SO embarrassed. I looked like a total creeper in the photo! I was totally convinced she thought I was an internet freak show. I quickly explained myself and thought "I have ruined my blog!! And it's so early!!!"...However, I should have known better. Pretty in Pink Megan is the sweetest thing ever and told me not to worry and that she liked my hair.

I am so grateful I am now a blogger, and stories like the one above, and being tagged by Shasta Anne are perfect examples of what makes it so special.

Introducing Lovely Lynett :)

In just a little bit the most adorable and talented little lady named Lynett of http://lynnsonelove.blogspot.com/will be gracing Meg's Big Move with her presence (somewhere my gay friend RPN is clapping his hands as he has had a total straight crush on her since he met her-she is that cute.)! Lynett is my coworker but more importantly a friend, and was a big inspiration in creating this blog. I will miss her terribly after the big move but am sure that this blog (and texting!) will keep us from feeling so far away.

I have asked Lynett to do a "What's in your bag?" post because I am curious to know and I have loved reading those sorts of posts on other blogs.

Stay tuned :)

Glitter + Heels + Louboutin = NM bill + Giddy Meg

I am a girly girl no doubt. I had been lemming over a pink glitter (holy hell) Louboutin's but never was able to get them...So this winter, when these babies were available....
The 2nd photo are my shoes :) excuse the nail polish stained rug.

I pounced. I bought them to wear with a black cocktail dress to an x-mas party that Muffin invited me to. Here is the cocktail dress (Notte Marchesa)
It was at a children's museum, so I thought the glitter would be perfection. Let me tell you one thing... NO PLATFORM= INTENSE PAIN. I probably wasn't the BEST date for poor Muffin Man as I was hobbling like a lunatic towards the end of the night. These babies are tucked safely in their box and red dustbag... I think it is so chic when women keep their shoes in their appropriate boxes in their closets! I am just starting this habit and cant wait to see it in full effect in my new closet in Philly. My closet at home (yes I still live with rents) is pint sized and quite unfortunate.

Speaking of glitter and all things girly, last night I went with my dear friend Robert to see Wicked. I was in heaven watching Glinda and got super giddy during a part of the show where all of her glitter heals were exposed.

Is it bad that I wished her dress was pink? Wasn't it pink in the original Wizard of OZ?
